Successfully Tracking Acid and Metalliferous Drainage Underground

AquaGeo has undertaken a 3 year project with Newmont Mining to track the movement of Water and Metalliferous Drainage on one of their mine sites using Frequency Domain Geophysics and advanced 3D statistical analysis and visualisation of geophysical data. AquaGeo has managed to separate the high salinity AMD generation areas from the "wet areas" caused by rainfall infiltration and effectively track where acid generation is forming. This allows the client to target specific acid generation areas rather than the whole dump site
